Jeu
Robert Schumann, Alban Berg, Franz Schubert, Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Arnold Schoenberg, Georges Brassens –to name but a few – all play hide-and-go-seek with Louise Jallu and her bandoneon leading the band. The game gleefully alternates between the past and the present. Is it Louise's way of playing snakes and ladders or is it a Jallusian operation (one ear turned backwards, the other toward the unheard), on a Janusian model? In her compositions, Louise Jallu plays with homages to her predecessors by renewing her identity in a dazzling role-playing game.
