Alexandre Ouzounoff

With this double album, composer and former bassoonist Alexandre Ouzounoff explores with finesse the singular and universal dimensions of an “outdoor” world that nourishes and enriches his daily life alongside his creative activity.
 
 CD1, entitled “Natural”, echoes his past as a bassoonist. It represents a natural return to his roots, marked by his collaboration with American bassoonist Jeffrey Lyman, performer of several of his works. This intimate link with his former instrument is a vibrant tribute to his musical roots.
 
CD2, “Aquatic”, plunges into the marine universe, the origin of all things. Here, Victor Ouzounoff, the composer's son, interprets earthy sounds on the Horn, intertwining them with unpredictable timbres to evoke unexplored territories.
 
Alexandre Ouzounoff composes an articulate yet disconcerting world of sound, where every note seems imbued with echoes of the past, yet unfolds in a quest for the unknown. It's a music that fills the space until silence takes over, letting the instructions of the past seep in.
