French Fragrances
Philippe Tondre, oboe
Danae Dörken, piano
Introducing French Fragrances, the second part of our discographic trilogy in partnership with Klarthe and SWR Kultur. The recording highlights five key pieces from our repertoire of 20th-century French chamber music for oboe.
This CD is the fruit of work on timbre and color, with a recurring theme of embracing the various styles of each composer. Intoxicating, each piece brought us its share of aromas and essences during our recording sessions. The first sessions were always surprising; details count so much in this music, so it required great patience to see our "fragrances" and "bouquets" take shape.
