Born in 2000, Élise Bertrand began playing the piano at the age of 5, the violin at the age of 8, and composition three years later. After studying at the CRR in Toulon, she entered the CRR in Paris at the age of 14 and studied the violin with Suzanne Gessner and composition with Nicolas Bacri.
In 2020, she obtained her license at the CNSMDP in violin in the class of Roland Daugareil. As a violinist, she participates in many projects both as soloist and chamber musician (in a quartet at La Roque d'Anthéron in summer 2020, in recital at the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad in January 2021 and at the Aix Easter Festival in Provence in March 2021) and within orchestras (OPRL, Les Dissonances ...).
Élise won numerous violin, chamber music and composition competitions.
In the fall of 2019, she won the 2nd Prize of the Ginette Neveu International Competition and the Contemporary Prize. A month later, she obtained the 1st Prize and Special Prize at the Leopold Bellan International Competition.
Composer, Klarthe Editions places its trust in it through the “Elise Bertrand Collection”. Her pieces are commissioned by ensembles, eminent instrumentalists, competitions and are the subject of broadcasts on France Musique. Élise is keen to defend the little-known repertoire, both on the violin and in chamber music.
