Pauline Viardot García, July 18, 1821 – May 18, 1910) was a leading nineteenth-century French mezzo-soprano, pedagogue, and composer of Spanish descent. Cendrillon is an "Opérette de salon" created April 23, 1904 in Mrs Aogueiras apartments. This work is dedicated to Mrs Mathilde de Nogueiras.
